ten months. wow. he is babbling and growling and giggling and crawling and pulling up to stand. he loves holding two things in one hand, or holding onto something while standing up. we just got him a little stroller for florida, and he LOVED cruising around, being able to see everything. he travels better than most adults. he loves hard pretzels, fruit, dad’s ‘thomas scrambles,’ beans, and yogurt. he’s full of mischief and cute as can be. he’s sleeping well (knock on wood!) and snuggling and pretty much a joy to be around.

Thomas was so excited to hang out with him. He was concerned when Matthew cried, and curious when he was sleeping. He also had a blast hanging out with Aunt Jen, Uncle Stephen, and, of course, Ginger the dog.

summer time

just a boy and his submarine:

IMG_3538

or maybe’s mom’s shoes?

IMG_3543

nah!

IMG_3545

this boy LOVES listening to music, especially when he also loves the people playing it:

the sippy cup is often more useful for teething than for hydrating

G-Ma came to visit during the heat wave!

IMG_3572

she sang to him, clapped for him, and loved him to pieces

IMG_3575

then we gave him his first taste of spaghetti, gravy made by dad

(he loved it, and devoured two big scoops of it)

i don’t know where he gets THIS from:

(well, actually, the bottle came out of the recycling bin…)

in case you couldn’t tell, thomas is turning into quite the fantastic, enthusiastic little boy. eating multiple meals a day, he hardly ever turns any food down. he’s crawling up a storm, especially when he’s trying to make a getaway with anything he thinks he’s not supposed to have (in which case he cackles and takes off at double speed!). he (and we) survived the heat by hanging out in our basement, taking cool baths and showers, and borrowing air conditioning whenever we could.

A Day in the Life

Since my photos have been few lately, I tried for a day in the life yesterday. We missed a few hours in the middle, but hey – I tried.

since he’s started climbing, it’s safer for him to nap on the floor. we set up a futon mattress in his room, and he loved it right away, both for playing and for napping!

as you can see from these pictures, we’ve been spending a lot of time in our cool, crawling-friendly basement. it’s been cool enough this week to be back sleeping in our bedroom, but we still spend the heat of the day down here. little man is cutting teeth (three have broken through in total and three are just below the surface) and working on standing without holding on (and getting good at it very quickly – he’s definitely not wasting any time). he’s putting anything and everything in his mouth, so we’re keeping a close eye on him, too.

I’ve taken a few since then, but not many. Most of what’s new is better seen in video (or real life) anyway! Thomas’s two top teeth are breaking through, his bottom two are pretty much fully in, and he is crawling up a storm. He loves to pull himself up to standing, and even the pediatrician says he’ll be walking by 11 months, if not 10. He’s saying mama and dada and more, and making all sorts of crazy babble noises in between. He is fighting sleep a little more than he used to – his little body is just too keyed up to stop! – but for the most part everything is going well.
